This is a home that excited us from the moment we arrived and it exudes a palpable charm, one that relaxes and delights you.

There is a romance associated with life in an English cottage, it is about much more than just the age of the house, it is about the feel of it, the proportions. A real home gets inside your psyche and adds another level to the way you enjoy life.
Eynsford is a delightful place to be, the charming High Street has a look that will captivate any new visitor. Period cottages line the conservation area and the array of architectural styles each century has brought with it ensures visitors will love the picturesque feel. The 'fall in love' moment for many is when they turn their heads to look down a side street and spot the bridge and the ford, it's a scene that could grace a Constable canvas.
When you then look around the area, to explore, that's when you truly appreciate how incredible this little village is.
Just down the road you'll find Lullingstone Roman Villa and Lullingstone Castle. Summer brings with it wafts of lavender from the nearby fields and footpaths lead through glorious Kentish scenery.
Eynsford has its own ruined castle, an English Heritage site.
In truth it is the river, the valley and the fields around that seduce people to live here.
Our clients bought this cottage in 1991, it was a return to a village that had already claimed a place in their heart and, when they viewed it, a desire to move back solidified, especially because they had already lived in one of this delightful terrace of weather boarded homes.
There's much to admire, it is a pristine home, loved and cared for. The inglenook fireplace with its inset bread oven is a delight and instant talking point. A couple of open panels at waist height in the sitting room wall allows you to look through to the kitchen, it enhances the charm and makes this a place to share moments with friends, somewhere intimate and relaxing.
Talk to the owners and they will tell you of wonderful years shared with neighbours, of garden get togethers amongst the owners of the cottages, tables set out and laughter resounding along the terrace.
It's somewhere that they love sharing with their dogs too, we've mentioned countryside walks and they are well trodden by our clients and their canine companions.
This is a home of inspiration too, somewhere that the muse visits. A summer house at the end of the garden looks back at the charming rooflines of the cottages, above them the hillside sits in the distance beckoning you. It is in this quiet place that art is inspired, a perfect spot for a painter to ply their trade and it is a great writers retreat if that be your passion. For others it may be the perfect place to sit and chat or bury yourself in a good read, perhaps something from Monty Don before you take to the flower borders.
For daily life outside the home Eynsford also scores highly, from coffee and cake in the delightfully friendly Riverside Tearoom to Rafferty's Village Store for the daily things you need, it's all here in this village community including a traditional butcher.
Access is fantastic, Swanley is under five miles, Sevenoaks less than eight and the motorway network a simple drive. Motorsport fans will love having Brands Hatch nearby too, a simple drive away.
If you know Eynsford already you'll understand why we love it so much and if you haven't experienced it, we look forward to introducing you to the village and this wonderful home.
