This wonderful home is filled with surprises and we enjoyed discovering all it has to offer.
When we first stepped through the front door of this home something happened, something unexpected.
We are lucky to see so many wonderful properties and they all stand out for different reasons but, the ones which really capture our imagination are the homes that, like this one, seem to have a presence all their own.
It's hard to define what it is here and we're sure you'll feel it too when you visit, the house seems to just put you at ease as you step in. Whether it’s the proportions of the rooms, the height of the ceilings, the light coming in through the windows, as we said, it's hard to pin point, but it's here, calm, and that embraced us.
Once you get over that first impression, then you can begin to take in the finer points. Fireplaces give a homely feel; a wonderfully stylish finish enhances a practical kitchen with utility room beyond. The kitchen is one of those that you know you will find yourself with a drink, sitting chatting to friends and family, merrily passing time in perfect harmony. You may step through to the conservatory, it almost begs to be named 'The Orangery' as the height of the ceiling gives a grand feel, it makes this a superb spot to sit and gaze across the lovely garden the owner has created and stocked.
Upstairs, the master bedroom makes you ponder, it's much more than an ordinary bedroom and, with an en suite, it is a super space that extends across one side of the house.
There are two more bedrooms on the first floor, one a comfortable double room, the other currently serves as an office, an inclined ceiling gives this room a unique feel, one of height and space. It's these little idiosyncrasies that you realise add a huge amount to the charm of the house. Angled walls, nooks and crannies, spaces for cherished items of furniture to reside, all making for a more complete home.
Ultimately you will reach the two top rooms, a bedroom suite that any teenager is likely to wish for and space that can be used in a multitude of ways.
It sounds wonderful doesn't it, and there is lots to take in, but, before you finish, you remember there is a cellar as well and what a room that is!
We're still surprised by the amount of space this house provides, no wonder it has provided such a happy home for our client, for nearly seventeen years.
It isn't just the house that has kept her here though, Rotherfield is a lovely village set amidst glorious rolling countryside, a working landscape. Crowborough Station is just around one and a half miles distant. the train journey to London Bridge is around one hour and nine minutes.
You can tell we have a soft spot for this home, look through the pictures, come and see it, we’re looking forward to showing you around and then you can experience the magic for yourselves.Get in touch if you like this property.
