We adore homes that provide so much and do everything so well. Space, two homes in one, convenience, lifestyle, it all feels so on point here.
With this home it would be easy to talk about waking up in the morning, throwing open the bedroom curtains and gazing at the beautiful view over Hythe out to sea and to Romney Bay. We could ponder on how it must feel to step from your bedroom onto the landing and have your eyes drawn to the rolling hillside beyond, or perhaps how wonderful sunsets must feel with the softening glow behind a leafy backdrop. We're not going to do that; we're going to talk about the annexe and why? There are lots of things that make this home special and here we found a truly special annexe, one that was designed with thought, with practicality and with comfort in mind.
Because someone went to extra lengths to get it right, what you will discover is a space that is somewhat luxurious and provides a true separation of lives. Let's tick off the list; it has a wonderful lounge/diner, a kitchen with separate utility room, a cloakroom and a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom. Add to all of that a private entrance, a connection to the main home too, a patio and lovely spot to catch sunsets from, you can understand why we say it is a perfect annexe. It is a great place to entice those who love getting away, perhaps an Air B'n'B. It is also somewhere that could make a great home office if you want to truly detach work from your family life. The design allows connection and separation of lives, masterfully done we think.
What about the main home? Well that's special too. There's a space here that is very comforting and gives freedom to enjoy life. The kitchen is the hub and it surprises with the scope it provides. You have a utility room to the side of the house, step from that into the beginning of the kitchen, a room in itself with work surface, an ideal casual workstation and place for the creative chef to be separating areas of menu preparation, sounds so professional doesn't it! The main kitchen forms a brilliant U shape, looks over the garden and flows into the breakfast area where you connect with and step into the garden, to a perfect breakfast and coffee morning spot. There is a dining room next to the kitchen and beyond that is the living room, both connected though the conservatory, an all year room with fabulous wood burning stove that will make winter evenings a real treat.
Upstairs the bedrooms all are sensible sizes, the master has an ensuite and there is a stylish family bathroom. Yes, there's a cloakroom downstairs, we forgot to mention earlier and you'll spot it on the floorplans.
There's parking to the front of this home, a double garage and access to the right-hand side that takes you to a private entrance to the annexe. It has worked so well for holiday lets in the past. As we've already mentioned, it has a private garden area to enjoy sunsets from and a patio by its living room door that can be opened up to the main house's garden or kept closed off from it.
The main garden is lovely; lawn, flower beds, shrubs, patio and the chicken run. It's in perfect balance, the right size to enjoy.
Living here, you are near Sene Valley Golf Course, footpaths will encourage exploration and Hythe's wonderful seafront promenade, gardens and picturesque High Street are all so easy to get to. There's Sandgate and Folkestone on your doorstep, Romney Marsh to explore, beautiful countryside inland, railway stations at Sandling and Westenhanger, many will use Folkestone West and getting onto the M20 is easy too. So is getting to Canterbury via Stone Street or heading to the wonderful Elham Valley.
This is a super home for two families or for anyone who needs a quality space separated from the main house but accessible.Get in touch if you like this property.
