It was a beautiful sunrise yesterday morning—the first of 2026.

2025 wasn’t the year many of us expected or planned for, yet I hope it held goodness for you. Mine, like every year, had its highs and its lows.

I may be colour-blind, but I still love a good sunrise and, as the day prepared to close, watching the sky slip into a quiet, glowing sunset reminded me what a gift it is simply to witness moments like these.

Hardly a day goes by when I don’t think of my father, his life, like so many, cut short too soon. Every year past my fortieth has been a year he never got to enjoy, and that simple truth nudges me to savour time, to try to do the most good I can, in the ways I can.

As we step into 2026, I hope you’ll do the same. Our monthly Make Life Special challenges are one gentle way to begin.

January’s Challenge: One Room, Three Stories

We’re starting with a calm, contemplative challenge. Choose one room in your home—a kitchen, a lounge, a hallway—and across January, capture three short “stories” of life in that room.
A story can be:

A photo of a quiet moment.
A sentence about what you noticed.
A small ritual that makes the space feel yours.

Why this matters

Home isn’t just walls and windows; it’s the backdrop to our lives. By pausing to notice, we create meaning in the ordinary—and that’s where life feels special.

How to join

Pick your room.
Capture three moments this month (morning ritual, mid-week pause, weekend scene).
Share quietly or post with #MakeLifeSpecial if you’d like to inspire others.

In Closing

We sell homes that make life special—but the way we notice home makes a difference every day. Here’s to a year of belonging, renewal, and stories worth remembering.
